Captra Mobile Sales

Anyone who uses QuickBooks and services customers needs this product.
There isn't anything on the market like Captra and I've been looking for
years. We've been an avid QuickBooks user, but felt overwhelmed by all
the paperwork we have to do. For years we have had to track all the invoices,
decipher the handwriting of my foremen and manually enter everything into
QuickBooks so that we could bill our customers. We had it down to just
a couple hours every day, but there was always a lag whenever we had trouble
understanding what was written or if someone wrote down the wrong information.
Today, we are using Captra (we have three Symbol rugged PDAs) and my guys
virtually just point and click and complete all the paperwork right on
site. Every morning they sync and we process the previous day's paperwork
in just a few minutes.
TNT Express
Purpose Built Software has an eight-year history with TNT Express, having
developed their hand held courier pick up and delivery software, initially
deployed on DOS devices from Symbol Technologies. In May of 2002 we were
selected to implement the next generation of this application on the Microsoft
Pocket PC platform using GPRS wireless communications. This implementation
has been an outstanding success. Real time pickup and delivery information
is constantly sent to and received from drivers as and when the transactions
happen. The application is running across 1500 Symbol PDT8137 Pocket PC
2002 devices all day every day recording every pickup and delivery made
by TNT Express.
Department of Defence
Purpose Built Software in conjunction with the Australian Department of
Defence has produced a mobile application that enables personnel to carry
out the manifesting, assessment, medic and statistic functions involved
in parachute training. The application is designed to allow multiple staff
to record information during all stages of training. The information is
then sent back to a desktop application for further analysis.
Elders - Livestock
Elders selected Purpose Built Software to build and deploy project "Livestock".
This application allowed Elders personnel to broker a deal on site at the
sale yards between buyers and sellers. Project "Livestock" allows
the Elders broker to record all relevant information such as buyer and seller
details, lot number, sell price etc. This is collected in real time and
the information is sent back to Elders head office using wireless wide area
networking technology provided by Telstra. Elders estimate that simply enabling
an invoice to be generated immediately will save hundreds of thousands of
dollars in processing time and outstanding debtors.
Label Printing
Partnering with TEC, Purpose Built Software has built a solution to a common
problem related to the labelling of food. It is critical that the contents
of products produced in house are labelled appropriately to ensure the product
is fit for consumption by members of the public. Some people have allergic
reactions to common food additives. These people need to be informed about
the contents of goods such as bread, cakes etc that have been produced in
house. The Symbol MK2000, combined with the TEC printer and application
software from PBS has resulted in a solution to a rather complex logistical
problem. There is no need to carry separate pre printed labels for every
product you make. You now have the option to produce on demand with the
latest ingredients clearly listed on the label. Print as many labels as
you like in seconds.
